Petbasheerabad police in Hyderabad has arrested and filed a case against a man on Friday (April 7th), who allegedly intimidated, abused and cheated a Non Resident India (NRI).

Police said that N Raja, who is a native of Vishakapatnam, met N Anupama about two years ago in connection with some real estate venture. After few frequent meetings they became friends. Later, Raja took a loan of Rs 500,000 from her, promising to return the loan.

Raja did not return the loan money to Anupama, who lives in the United States. She reminded him frequently about the lean, about 8 months ago, when she returned back to India, she started making an effort to contact Raja, while he started avoiding phone calls from her.

Police said that on some occasions, Raja sent messages on her phone and sometimes he sent verbal messages to her that were intimidating in nature.

Police have registered a case of cheating and intimidation chargers filed against Raja and he was arrested.
