The new cases of coronavirus are increasing at a fast pace across the nation. After reporting less than 2000 cases in a day, the country has been reporting more than 15000 cases in a day. The number of deaths are quite low when compared to the first and second waves. A total number of 16135 new cases of coronavirus are reported in the country. Kerala and Maharashtra happens to be the top contributors among the Indian states. The total number of cases reported are said to be 4,35,18,564 and the total number of recoveries climbed to 4,28,79,477. There are 1,13,864 active cases which is high when compared to the previous months.

With 24 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, the total number of deaths are said to be 5,25,223. The total number of tests conducted in India till date are said to be 86,39,99,907 and the tests conducted yesterday are 3,32,978. The total vaccination doses given for coronavirus in India in total are said to be 1,97,98,21,197 and the vaccines given yesterday are 1,78,383. Most of the Indian states asked the people to follow social distancing and Tamil Nadu too witnessed high number of cases in the last one week. As per the reports from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the active cases comprise of 0.26 percent of the total number of infections and the positivity rate stands at 4.85 percent. Kerala (3322), Maharashtra (2962) and Tamil Nadu (2672) have reported high number of cases.
