TN Govt Signs MoUs For 24 Projects To Boost Exports

The government of Tamil Nadu signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for 24 projects that are worth Rs 2120.54 crores. The state's Chief Minister MK Stalin said that the goal of the government is to increase the exports of the state to 100 billion USD by the end of 2030. Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Trade and Investment Promotion Bureau (M-TIPB) of Tamil Nadu inked a MoU with Flipkart/Walmart to promote e-commerce in the state and this will be done through a supplier development program. This move expands the capabilities of MSMEs by intensive training and support. M-TIPB and The Indo German Chamber of Commerce inked an MoU between the businesses in Germany and the MSMEs in Tamil Nadu.

This will help for technology collaboration, linkages, interaction and export opportunities.The inauguration program of the Tamil Nadu Exports Conclave was arranged by the state and central departments that will showcase the caliber of the exports by Tamil Nadu. MK Stalin released the Tamil Nadu Exports Promotion Policy (TNEPP) and MSME Exporters Handbook. 21 export units participated in the program. The Industries Department signed 14 MoUs with an investment of Rs 1880.54 crores that will provide employment for 39,150 persons. There are 10 other MoUs signed by the MSME Department with an investment of Rs 240 crores which would provide 2545 jobs. Stalin said that the current exports of Tamil Nadu are said to be 26 billion USD.
