On Monday, Amazon revealed updates to its Fire TV platform and launched a new range of smart TVs focused on lifestyle, during its Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026 presentation. The large online retailer unveiled a revamped Fire TV operating system, designed to be quicker and easier for users to navigate. Simultaneously, Amazon introduced Artline, a fresh collection of smart TVs that feature built-in ambient art and enhanced integration with Alexa.

As mentioned in Amazon's blog, one of the standout features of the CES 2026 presentation is the updated Fire TV operating system. This redesign brings a cleaner homescreen that includes specific tabs for Movies, TV Shows, Sports, News, and Live TV. With this new OS, Amazon has reportedly restructured a large part of the platform’s basic framework, leading to a 30 percent improvement in response time on Fire TV Sticks and smart TVs that run on Fire TV OS. The homescreen now sports larger rounded tiles and modern text styles. Additionally, users can now pin as many as 20 favorite apps right on the homescreen, which is a significant increase from the old limit of six.

The company mentions that by long-pressing the Home button on the Fire TV remote, users can quickly access the settings panel to manage audio controls, accessibility features, and connected smart home devices. To enhance the updated TV experience, Amazon is also refreshing its Fire TV mobile application. The app will now allow users to search for shows and movies, manage their watchlists, and send content directly from their phone to the TV.

According to Amazon, this updated experience will first be available on the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Generation), and Fire TV models starting in February 2026. It is anticipated that it will roll out to more Fire TV devices and partner televisions throughout the spring. In addition to the Fire TV OS update, Amazon has launched the Artline TV. It is designed as a lifestyle TV, similar to Samsung's Frame series. Offered in 55-inch and 65-inch 4K OLED sizes, these TVs feature slim bezels and a matte finish. They come in up to ten different frame styles, including walnut, graphite, matte white, and silver. The TVs also support HDR formats such as Dolby Vision and HDR10+.

What makes Artline unique compared to other TVs on Amazon is its ambient art feature, which turns the screen into a digital artwork display when not in use. These TVs include Omnisense motion detection technology, which senses when someone is in the room and automatically shifts to art mode. According to Amazon, users can upload their own pictures using Amazon Photos. There’s also a selection of over 2,000 carefully chosen artworks, including traditional paintings and modern abstract art, provided by the online retailer. Furthermore, Artline TVs have a system that suggests art that matches the room’s decor. The company states that this system can take up to four images of the room's interior and recommend art styles and images that fit well with the existing decor. The Artline TVs come with Fire TV OS pre-installed and support Wi-Fi 6. They are anticipated to launch in the first half of 2026, with prices in the US starting around $899 (about Rs. 81,000).
