The clash between India and Pakistan in October 2025 during the Women's ODI World Cup has officially become the most viewed women's international cricket game ever, according to the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday. This crucial match, where India triumphed by 88 runs at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, achieved record-breaking views, reaching 28.4 million and accumulating 1.87 billion minutes watched, making it the highest-watched women's international cricket game to date. When it comes to TV audiences, the India-Pakistan match stands out as the top-rated match during the league stage in ICC Women's ODI World Cup history. The match between India and Australia on October 12 in Visakhapatnam also set a record with 4.8 million peak viewers on JioCinema, marking another milestone for women's cricket.

The first 11 matches, including India's games against Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and South Africa, attracted 72 million viewers, showing a 166 percent increase compared to the last tournament. The time spent watching skyrocketed by 327 percent to 6.3 billion minutes, highlighting how invested fans are becoming. The ICC further stated that the initial 13 matches of this tournament have already brought in more than 60 million viewers, a five-fold rise from 2022, while the total viewing time has reached 7 billion minutes, twelve times more than the last tournament. The tournament is being broadcasted on Star Sports channels and JioCinema in five languages—English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada—along with Indian Sign Language for accessibility, and features innovative options like multi-camera views and Max View for live streaming.

Currently, the host nation India, under the captaincy of Harmanpreet Kaur, is sitting in the fourth position on the points table with four points from four matches. They must win their upcoming league games against England, New Zealand, and Bangladesh to stay in contention for a spot in the semi-finals.
